Week Ahead: Nov. 21

Here’s hoping for a healthy week!  Please remember to put your and the community’s health first. If you are feeling ill, please stay home.  This bug is a doozy.  One of the reasons students (and faculty) come to school sick is that they fear what will happen if they miss.  They think they will be WAY far behind and unable to catch up.  Let’s all keep this in mind when we welcome students after being absent for 2-3 days.  Please think carefully about the work you assign for make-up and help students to manage their work loads.  If you think a student in your advisory needs all teachers to work together on this, use the “Catching Up on Missing Work” form.

Terry Fox Assembly:  We are so excited to have the opportunity to hear from Judith Fox, Terry Fox’s sister.  She will be giving a short presentation / talk about her brother and his legacy.  We are still waiting to hear from the organization about the actual timing of the event.  Since the HS will be having their own assembly, we will be unable to run a special schedule.  Instead, we will have to miss part of B block.  I’m sorry for the reduction of class time for that block.

Divisional Meeting:  We will be meeting altogether in the library for the start of our divisional meeting.  I’ll be reviewing WWW plans and chaperone expectations.  From there, each team will meet to ensure that all advisors are well versed on the plans.  It is also a time for teams to finalize any last minute plans for Monday’s activities.

Educational Surveys:  I am not sure if it is confirmed, but we may be having students complete the Education Surveys during the week.  As soon as I have information about the proctoring of those surveys, I will share the directions / instructions with you.  We want the surveys to be as valid as possible, so please follow the procedures exactly.  In order to reduce survey fatigue, the following schedule is to be used.

  • Tuesday, Nov. 22:  Blocks E and G
  • Wednesday, Nov. 23:  Blocks B and D
  • Thursday, Nov. 24: Blocks F and H
  • Friday, Nov. 25: Blocks A and C
