Coronavirus Update: Spring Break Safety
|Dear Faculty and Staff,
Thank you for your extraordinary work these past two months. You certainly deserve the upcoming Spring Break next week. I want each of you to enjoy a break that is relaxing, rejuvenating, and keeps you healthy and safe. And, I want to share information with you that will help you have this kind of well-deserved break.
The Vietnamese government is helping us all stay healthy and safe by continuing to implement effective mitigation strategies. I do not need to remind you that travelling outside of Vietnam is prohibited until further notice. In addition, as restrictions change quickly across Vietnam, you are required to complete the Travel Questionnaire, before any travel outside of Ho Chi Minh City. This information will be maintained by the School and may be requested by the Vietnamese Government at any time, particularly if a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak contact-tracing is needed. For your safety, we need to know where you are so that we can do our best to support you if there are any concerns.
One of the safest places to be at this time is actually the neighborhood in which we have the privilege to live: Phu My Hung. Here, we have extraordinary support from the SSIS Board and the Phu My Hung corporation. Within Phu My Hung, we have an increased ability to provide you support; as we are able to more closely work with local government officials. Outside of Phu My Hung, SSIS does not benefit from the same support. If you become quarantined in another location, SSIS has less ability to support you and you would have to follow the local government’s requirements and protocols.
So, as we head into Spring Break, it is good to remember that we live in a beautiful neighborhood with strong safety measures and exceptional levels of support. Every one of you deserves a restful and relaxing Spring Break and most of all, a healthy and safe one.
All good wishes,
Catriona
