79. Faculty/Staff Coronavirus Update: Mandatory mask-wearing and other safety measures

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Today, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (DOeT) issued a new directive, #1334 (May 10), instructing international schools to take additional precautions to protect students and staff.

In accordance with the new directive, faculty, staff, and students must:

• Wash their hands regularly
• Keep a social distance of at least 1 meter, at all times
• Wear masks at all times on campus, except when eating and drinking

This means that students taking the IB and AP exams must wear masks at all times, as do the teachers invigilating the exams

Masks may only be removed while eating and drinking or if you are alone in your classroom. During team meetings of 2 or more people masks must be kept on.

Regarding the number of people allowed in a room at one time, please make sure that you have FEWER than the maximum occupancy allows and that you keep 1- 2 meters apart. This applies to all meetings and to students taking exams.
