Head of School comments: All good wishes and thank you

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As I’m not able to attend the end-of-year presentation and address you personally, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the effort and dedication that you have put in this year.

Despite the challenges, uncertainty, and adversity, you’ve demonstrated grace and resilience. You have cared for our students. You have provided every student with excellent teaching and learning regardless of platforms, subjects, or setbacks. In addition, both during the more than eight months in total we enjoyed on campus, as well as during this final month off-campus, you have remained steadfast in your commitment to our mission and to the goal we have for each student at SSIS – being prepared to live purposeful lives as global citizens. As you will see in the full faculty meeting with David Chadwell today, by all measures, it has been an outstandingly successful year for SSIS.

Just look at the Class of 2021, several of whom attended SSIS for more than ten years. Many of you have had the great honor of teaching them. Today, they are young, ambitious graduates prepared to head out into all corners of the world to their best-fit universities in pursuit of the goals they’ve set for themselves and the passions ignited at SSIS, confident that they can succeed. Thanks to you!

Wherever this email may find you, whether on Vietnamese soil or abroad, whether in preparation for new adventures next year or to return home to the Dragons, I wish you the very best this summer and beyond. May you enjoy good health, a kindred community, and time to reflect and re-energize.
