Strategic Planning for SSIS – Soliciting your Ideas
|Dear Faculty and Staff –
Having secured re-accreditation with WASC, we are now creating a strategic plan to cover the next three years. We want to keep moving forward as a School to offer our students the very best in the way of an American-style international education. As we create this plan, we ask all members of our community to share their ideas for ways to improve SSIS. Parents and students will receive a link to a form for them (in English, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese). This email is to provide a link for you to share your thoughts and ideas.
Strategic Planning was originally schedule for the end of April, but unforeseen events required us to move the date forward. Two weeks from now, we welcome Mr. Henry “Skip” Kotkins, a senior consultant from the prestigious Carney, Sandoe and Associates in Boston, who will lead four days of meetings. Friday and Saturday, 21-22 April, there will be open meetings for students, teachers & staff, and parents to meet with Mr. Kotkins. On Sunday, 23 April, a small group of senior administrators and board members will work with Skip synthesize the ideas expressed, together with items from the WASC action plans, into a strategic plan which will be shared with the community in an afternoon meeting on Monday, 24 April.
While you are welcome to attend these sessions (and we hope you will – there will be two opportunities for faculty and staff on Friday), we offer you a chance to share your thoughts with Skip and the SSIS Board beforehand. We want to ensure that all voices are heard in this process to set SSIS on the right path for continued future success.
Again, we hope you will attend one of the focus group sessions with Mr. Kotkins, but if you would like to share your thoughts in writing, please follow this link. We will close the form and collate all responses this Friday (14 April 2017).
Sincerely,
Mark Sylte, Head of School
