Exciting week ahead – helping each other to be well prepared

Dear Faculty & Staff,
Welcome to a new and exciting week for SSIS! For those who were on vacation, I hope you had a fun, memory-filled week! To all of you working last week, thank you for your incredibly hard work. It paid off, and the campus and the two new buildings look magnificent. I can’t wait to see the students’ faces on Tuesday morning.
Yesterday, we gave Mr. Arthur Ting, along with other members of the Ting family, their first tour of the new buildings. They were thrilled with the thoughtful intentional design and quality of the work. They expressed how proud the founders, Lawrence Ting, and Ferdinand Tsien, would be to see how SSIS has evolved to meet the educational needs of students in today’s world. They shared great appreciation for all of the hard work, dedication, and care that has gone into making SSIS such a special community and outstanding educational experience. Thank you all.
As we prepare for Tuesday’s opening, we can help each other out by:

  • Being patient and stepping in to help each other when needed.
  • And specifically, tomorrow please only ask for help from WaiMun, Jae Jung, Michelle Marcelo, and the maintenance staff if the matter is a safety matter or necessary for Tuesday’s opening. Submit all requests on the Helpdesk
  • If you have an improvement area or suggestion, share it with your principal. They will coordinate requests. All of your suggestions are important and will be addressed over time.
  • Your boxes will be taken away after school tomorrow, so please place them neatly on the corridor for easy access by the movers.

Here is a reminder of the Opening Day Agenda for Tuesday.

Middle School and High School teachers, I hope you have everything you need to be happy and inspired in your new teaching spaces. Elementary School teachers and TAs, I hope you have a meaningful professional sharing day tomorrow. I look forward to gathering with everyone for a celebratory Happy Hour at 3:30 PM.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! All good wishes,
Catriona
