Masking Tape on the Ground
|Dear Faculty –
I don’t normally get excited by masking tape on the ground, but this is an exception.
For the last two mornings, and for as long as we need to continue, the entire admin team has been at the front gate in the morning and during afternoon dismissal time to help with the turnstile system. After a marathon session with the vendor this morning, Wai Mun has us moving forward on a number of fronts towards improving the experience. We’ll install another two lanes to begin with as quickly as possible (we have to take up the tiles, dig a channel for power cables, install the turnstiles, etc.) and make some changes to the way the software is handling people coming through the gates.
While we all want things to go faster, please help us emphasise with students and parents alike that these changes are in the interest of security and safety at the school. The newly installed video cameras throughout the buildings are one part of this, but knowing who is coming in through the gates the the all-important first step.
Appreciatively,
Mark
