Learning and sharing at the EARCOS Leadership Conference this week

Dear Faculty & Staff,

Today, as I head to the 51st Annual EARCOS Leadership Conference in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, I can’t help but reflect on the theme of this year’s conference, “Nurturing Growth and Building Relevance.” You are all doing such admirable work along this theme.

During the conference, our school will have the opportunity to model thought leadership in three separate speeches illustrating growth and relevance.

Together with Edward Greene, new Executive Director of EARCOS, Elsa Donohue, Head of Vientiane International School, and Kevin Baker, new Director of the American International School of Guangzhou, I will present on the unique challenges of leadership transitions. At the conference, I will also facilitate the job alike for the medium-sized EARCOS schools.

In his presentation “Curriculum Documentation and Review that is Adaptive and Flexible,” David Chadwell will share unique insights from his experience of our work on curriculum documentation at SSIS.

Katie Rigney-Zimmermann will discuss the increased complexity that international schools face, in her presentation “Enrollment Challenges are Real in International School Admissions.”

In addition to David Chadwell and Katie Rigney-Zimmermann, I will be joined by Jon Wrzesinski, Tim Chute, Molly Burger, Donna Norkeliunas, and Tanya Olander, who are looking forward to gaining new inspiration and insights that they can share with all of you.

As a last note, please keep your fingers crossed for me, I am interviewing for the Board of Directors of EARCOS, and hope to return with good news!

While I am gone, WaiMun Fong will be in charge. Please do not hesitate to contact her if anything at all should arise.

Have a peaceful and productive week! All good wishes,

Catriona
