97. Stricter reenforcement of regulations in Ho Chi Minh City
|Dear Faculty and Staff,
What a pleasure it was to see so many of you at today’s full faculty in-service meeting. I’m thrilled that we have such a great team of faculty and staff ready to provide our students with an outstanding learning experience.
As I mentioned this morning, Ho Chi Minh City has become even more rigorous in enforcing that people only go out for essential needs, as you can see in People’s Committee Directive 2986/BC-CATP (Thursday, July 29).
Specifically, the HCMC Department of Public Security will supervise, monitor, and may penalize anyone who is not carrying identified tickets or vouchers during the social distancing period, as issued in directive No.16/CT-TTg.
Carrying Proof of Appointment
Please keep in mind that:
-
If you are going grocery shopping, you should carry your voucher (ticket) once issued by the People’s Committee of the district or ward where you live if you have received it. The vouchers include time restrictions and the location of the nearest stores or supermarkets.
-
If you get called to a vaccine appointment, you will need your ID card/Passport and the vaccination invitation letter or a phone message or identification card/ ticket (color of ticket changes daily) issued by the People’s Committee of districts or wards.
Lockdown Extended 14 Days
Also, as of today, August 2, current social distancing measures, i.e., lockdown, are extended for another 14 days (CV2556_PC (En), Sunday, August 1). Like you, I hope that these aggressive measures will significantly impact reversing the trend of the current outbreak in HCMC. Until then, we should remember that this is a critical time of managing the outbreak, and it is important that we all continue to do our part.
Please continue to stay safe and healthy, and most importantly, stay strong. In the spirit of Meitheal, we will support each other to get through this challenging time…and celebrate on the other side.
All good wishes,
Catriona
