1961 Is the Same Upside-Down
|On Monday and Tuesday, I did a 30-minute Google Calendar training for students during the eight study halls. Only the students who don’t have a study hall didn’t get the training. So, almost all of the students are ready and ripe to get their academic and personal lives calendared through this awesome app in our Google suite.
Students should be doing the calendaring on their own, but it would be awesome if we could give them reminders at times to put certain events on their calendar. From your perspective as teachers, you could remind them to calendar:
- Major, summative assessments in your class
- Meetings/appointments they make with you
For the latter, be sure to remind them to add you as a guest on the calendared meeting/appointment so that it gets on your calendar also.
Some students might choose to do the calendaring through the Calendar app on their smartphone. Please don’t be dismayed if any of your students pull out their phone for this purpose.
If you have any questions about Google Calendar, don’t hesitate to contact me. Below are slides with screenshot tutorials for the Calendar functions I taught the students.
BTW- the next time a year will the same upside-down is in 6009!
