IB for 2019-2020
|What we have going…
As everyone is aware, we have a major task on our plates this year: the IB self-study questionnaire (due before Winter Break), followed by the IB Evaluation Visit from March 23-25, 2020.
I will be asking for your support and documentation as I gather the required documents and we complete the self-study. Your help is vital and sincerely appreciated.
Upcoming Due Dates:
Grade 12:
- History IA, first submission – Monday, 12 August
- English Literature Written Assignment, final submission – Monday 19 August
- EE RPPF #2, completed by Tuesday, 20 August (this means students should be meeting with you next week to discuss their progress over the summer)
- Psychology IA, first submission – Friday, 23 August
- Economics Portfolio #3, first submission – Friday, 30 August
- EE, first submission, Tuesday, 3 September
Managebac Update
We are shifting to using Managebac more and more this year. As you already know, all unit planning is done in Managebac. In addition, I would like to move toward submission of all IAs on Managebac. This will ensure everything is being run through Turnitin and that we have a backup copy of all documents in a central location (you can’t be too safe!).
Erica has kindly entered the dates from the deadline calendar and created the IA submissions on Managebac already. She has properly configured Turnitin so that first submissions are not stored in the repository but final submissions are. This will prevent false 95-100% similarity ratings.
I would like to phase in the use of MB for IA submissions. Therefore:
- May 2020 cohort IA submissions (first and final)- it is optional to use MB.
- May 2021 cohort IA submissions (first and final) – it is required to use MB.
Erica can assist with any MB questions you may have.
