Counseling Update: August 24-28th
|Advisory:Â
August 24- This week during advisory time the entire HS will participate in a club expo. You are welcome to preview the club offerings here. All club sponsors and student leaders should use break time on Monday from 9:25-9:35 to set up your club station in the auditorium. Immediately following second block on Monday (E) all staff and students should go to the auditorium. During the club expo Charmaine Basel will give a brief overview of CAS and preview the club offerings. Following the intro, Jacob will invite students to spend the remaining time exploring club offerings. Students will then register electronically for clubs on the Athletics website, which will be available to them during the club expo. Shelley has sent all students an email with the link to register.
At 11:35 the Club Expo ends and Jacob will dismiss students to third block (F). Students and club sponsors will need to remove all displays prior to F block so the maintenance team can take down the tables and chairs.
August 26 – Registration for ASAs will close at noon.
August 27 to 28Â –Â The list of students participating in the ASA will be shared electronically with HS teachers. This will be used to record the attendance for the ASA.
College Visits: A key part of the college decision making process is finding a good fit. A key part in the admission process is demonstrating fit and interest. The university representatives that visit SSIS are often reading our students’ applications and making admission recommendations. Therefore, it is important for students to participate in university visits. Please encourage students to attend information sessions, which occur in the HS library unless otherwise indicated.
