Counseling Update: October 12-16

ALL 10th and 11th-GRADE STUDENTS
Start: F Block (9:40-12:40) in the HS Gym.
Day2: EFGH
 Teachers who teach 10th and 11th-grade student will need to serve has proctors

ADVISORY:Â
Grade 9: Students will meet in advisory groups and engage in a Q1 Grade reflection.
Grade 10 and 11: Will meet in advisory for  PSAT PreadministrationÂ
- PSAT Preadministration Continued:
- Hand out Answer Sheets
- Hand out the flyer of Religion and College Major codes.
- Make sure students all have a number 2 pencil.
- Start with Slide 4
- Start Preadministration Script “For boxes 11-12
- Collect Answer sheets and return to the counseling office.

Grade 12: Meet in advisory groups for ECÂ buddy activity
GROUP MEETING:Â
Grade 9 and 10: What is Service? Service Intro with Ms. Basel in the HS Auditorium. Please direct students to the gymnasium at 11:05.
Grade 11: EA/ED University timeline meeting with Ms. Bumpus and Ms. Hawken in the MPR. Please direct all grade 11 students to the MPR at 11:05.
Grade 12: Class officers will run the meeting. Please meet in the HS student lounge.
UNIVERSITY VISITS: A key part of the college decision-making process is finding a good fit. A key part in the admission process is demonstrating fit and interest. The university representatives that visit SSIS are often reading our students’ applications and making admission recommendations. Therefore, it is important for students to participate in university visits. Please encourage students to attend information sessions, which occur in the HS library unless otherwise indicated.
