Ending the First Quarter With Comments and Predictive Grades
|The Half-Way Mark in The First Semester is Next Week.
Next Friday is the end of the first quarter. Although the high school no longer has an official grade at the end of the first quarter, teachers will still need to provide a comment in PowerSchool for each student. IB teachers will need to add the second Predictive Grade on PowerSchool as well. More seniors are taking advantage of Early Decision and Early Action meaning that they will need IB Predicted Grades soon. The reason and process for inputing IB Predictive Grades (those sooner than the prescribed Predicted Grade in April) can be found here:

Some Subject Reports are Available on The OCC and MyIB
Usually, Subject Reports are released on IBIS at one time (by now), and I could release them to all relevant IB teachers. However, this is not the case as of September 29th, 2017. Some subjects have the Subject Report available now. You can find the Subject Report on the OCC. Note that the OCC will no longer be updated past December. All IB teachers are expected to transfer over to MyIB.
Gaining Confidence in the IB
A very recent IBO Blog posting addressed the issue of student confidence in IB. I will be sharing this with students:

Previous SSIS IB Exams and Marking Notes are on Google Drive
All the May 2017 IB Exams and External Assessments are now available on Google Drive. I will be scheduling department meetings with heads about the best time to talk about the results and how I can support going forward.
