Goal For Achieving IB Excellence 2017-2018
|What are we doing and why are we doing it?
The high school has been tasked with achieving IB/AP excellence. Realizing that such a monumental task cannot occur overnight, we will take steps to get there. The first steps to get there will be to hone vertical alignment with IB/AP standards guiding the way toward improving Grade 9/10 Pre-IB/AP prep.
Before attending the meeting on Wednesday September 6th, be sure that you are aware of the Aims-Objectives-Skills (particularly IA) in your respective IB course (and AP class). We will not be focusing on granular specific subject content at this time. We will be focusing on Aims-Objectives-Skills that all IB/AP students are expected to achieve and demonstrate when they successfully complete their high school program. You will sit by department and map out the path of student success pointing out strengths and areas for improvement in our current G9/G10 course offerings.
The final High School Divisional Professional Development calendar is not yet complete. However, the focus of IB excellence this year is to address systems and structures across the high school. There is no one problem nor is there no one solution that will instantly lead to higher scores.
