Good news for Android users, especially those who live in areas where data connections often run at a snail’s pace. Google has announced an update to “Data Saver” mode when using Chrome on Android which is designed to make loading the Web pages on a slow wireless connection faster—reducing data consumption by up to 70%. The rollout is expected to begin in the next few months, initially in India and Indonesia. And if Google keeps good on its promise to start in areas with less than blazing-fast areas, we should see it in Vietnam soon enough.
