Feedback mock exams:

Students approached their exams with maturity and commitment, showing great stamina – despite many of them sitting back to back exams. It is good to know that the real IB exams will not be this tight in timings as it has been a very full week for students, they have been wonderful throughout. Look forward to taking this into consideration when planning next year’s mocks. Thank you also to Yuki O and Brian H for helping to run an organised, smooth and seamless mock exam process for the students.

Extended Essays

Thanks for handing in completed EEs, it is a great achievement for our students to complete their first intensive research project. Thank you to supervisors for your expert, consistent and helpful guidance throughout the process. Looking forward to an EE cake party with students and supervisors to celebrate their success.

Research Series starting

Based on trying to help students gain more confidence with the research process, Grade 11 will be receiving research sessions run by Lara Keller and myself. These sessions will be run at lunchtimes and after school to assist students with the research process. Ideally, these can be timetabled in the future to assist students with the process within the school schedule.

Week of Monday March 14th: LK: How to Navigate and get the best from Databases + Academic Honesty/Strategies to avoid plagiarism (summarizing, etc.)

Week of Monday March 21st LK: Citations – What you need to know/Bibliographies

Week of Monday March 28th CB Establishing a healthy writing routine

Week of April 4th: Additional sessions will be added after this date: CB Distraction-free writing sessions + Booster sessions – these can be separate sessions based on how the students are doing in the process. will be offered throughout the year to assist students with the process and action of writing.
