2021 Report Card Comments (Google Doc)
SSIS Link Report Card Comment Bank Instructions (Website)
Here is a sample report card and sample transcript. These are taken from grade 11 students. This is especially helpful for our new teachers who have not yet seen what these documents look like.
This is just a friendly reminder to change in your GradeBook any 0s (zero) to 50%
Options for HS Grade Reporting Guidelines:
- Scores of zero must be removed by the end of the quarter/semester
- If you want the student to still complete the work: Enter an I for Incomplete; the student will need to make this up immediately during the following quarter.
- Enter a grade based on knowledge of what the student did complete (ex. teacher observed student during class and is aware of a certain level of achievement)
- If you have no knowledge of any work: Enter 50% of the points possible to create a 50% F grade for the assignment.
Grades and comments are due on Monday, October 11th at 3:00.
We will run the verification report at 3:00 and provide those to you digitally for review.

Wellness Blog: This week, “Join the Fresh Start Challenge!“
Remote Student Program: We are identifying students who will not be able to attend school synchronously (right now it appears that there are about 6-8 of them). These students are classified as Remote Students. We will be supporting these students with a remote support coordinator. This coordinator will work with teachers to streamline communication and support those students in their learning. Further details of this will be provided next week. This new position should alleviate some of the pressures we experienced last year supporting out of time zone students.
Tech Support and Instructional Tech Coach: Starting the school year virtually creates an even greater dependence on our tech team. In order to provide the best support possible, please keep the following in mind:
- Technical Issue: All technical issues must go through the Helpdesk:
- Sound isn’t working?
- Screen won’t share?
- Camera isn’t functioning?
- Fan sounds like an airliner taking off?
- Can’t log into Schoology or other school product?
- Students aren’t appearing correctly in Schoology?
- Material from PSLearning isn’t showing up in Schoology?
- These are all issues for the helpdesk; expected response time is within 2 hrs
- If you have an urgent issue (must be resolved immediate), please call or text David Perkin (+84 77 518 9332)
- Pedagogical Issue: Issues related to teaching and learning will be supported by the Instructional Coach for Technology, Thomas Galvez.

Communication from Counselors
When a teacher makes an Action Required log, the HS counselor will acknowledge the submission with an email. The HS counselor will then follow up with the student. When appropriate and with the student’s permission, counselors will share information pertinent to the situation with teachers. Counselors will keep teachers updated as they are able within the bounds of the case and confidentiality. Counselors will share “My Best Self” with teachers of the student if one is created.
Confidentiality
It is the school counselors’ responsibility to fully respect the right to privacy of those with whom they enter a counseling relationship and to provide an atmosphere of trust and confidence (Lazovsky, 2008; ASCA, A.2.). A school counselor, who is in a counseling relationship with a student, has an ethical and legal obligation to keep information contained within that relationship. Confidentiality is the ethical and legal term ascribed to the information communicated within the counseling relationship, and it must be maintained unless keeping that information confidential leads to foreseeable harm. (American School Counselor Association The School Counselor and Confidentiality)
High School Counseling Prioritization
The counseling team aims to follow up with students and faculty as soon as possible. However, when there are multiple cases at the same time, the counseling team will prioritize the following cases:
- Social/emotional concerns
- Academic concerns (in multiple courses)
- Indicator of social/emotional concerns
- Indicator of learning disability or language issue (work in collaboration with Regina Lewis, Learning Support or Diana Sorobey, EAL)
- Academic concerns (in a single course)
The counselors and admin will be reviewing the following reports
- Log Entry Report (daily)
- Attendance (daily)
- D/F Report (weekly on Monday)
As always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out. When in doubt, talk it out!
