What To Do If You Think You Have COVID-19?
|What to do if you think you have COVID-19?
-
80% of people with COVID-19 have MILD symptoms that require NO HOSPITALIZATION. And most people don’t need to see a doctor.
-
The only way you would know for sure that you have COVID-19 is to get tested. There is no random testing and no testing done on patient request. Only if you displayed severe symptoms or have had a known contact with a positive case would you be tested.
-
At home you should keep on hand medications for fever and cough and puffers for people with a history of asthma/ bronchitis, COPD.
-
If you cannot manage the symptoms at home, then you need to see a doctor. If you have shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, then you need to see a doctor.
-
I recommend Family Medical in these situations. Call first, get advice, make an appointment to get antibiotics, corticosteroids, puffers, etc. Usually that is all you would need.
