Read Moodle Announcements–  Please read the morning Moodle announcements to your students during the first couple of minutes of your first block class each day.

Observations Starting–  Starting the week of August 31st, I will be starting my observation cycle.  Thao will be using Google Calendar to schedule a pre-conference, observation and post-conference with you.  If there is a conflict with the observation date or block chosen please contact Thao to reschedule it for a different time during the week.  Please come prepared to the pre-conference to discuss the lesson’s objectives, instructional delivery methods and types of assessments used to gauge student understanding.

New Student Arrivals–  We recognize that we have had a number of students that have enrolled later in the school year.  This has happened for a variety of family reasons.  We know this has an impact on your classes.  When students arrive a couple of weeks late in the school year it is your discretion on how to deal with the content and work missed.  You might require them to makeup all of the work (please give them ample time to do this), you might excuse a few assignments, or even just have them take an assessment to ensure they met the standards missed.  In the end, it’s up to you.  If you need ideas how to best integrate a student arriving late please see Kris, Erin or Jacob for ideas.

The “Pulse” Feedback–  The data from last week’s “Pulse” has been shared with the HS Leadership Team and will be discussed at our next meeting on Monday.  All usernames will be removed before it is shared with the HSLT.

MAP Testing– MAP tests for students in grade 9 will take place during September 1-4 in the auditorium. Grade 10 students will no longer take the MAP starting this school year. Grade 10 take the PSATs in the fall.

Testing location: Auditorium

Testing time:

Date Time (AM) Testing subject

Curriculum Night (aka Back to School Night)– This will hopefully be the biggest night of the year for parent attendance.  Please dress to impress and make sure to cover Moodle, PowerSchool, and your syllabus in the short 10 minutes that you have with parents.  Here is the schedule for the night.
