Weekly Update: Sep. 11 – 18th

Thank you for sharing your ideas and giving your input at yesterday’s vertical alignment meetings. There will other times set aside this year for vertical teams to meet again. Although we are not doing the additional 30 minutes for AP/HL hours, we will be doing the SL drop classes. Please check with Cassie to Tim if you are unsure of how this works. SL only classes will still take place in their regular classrooms but it is to be a study hall time – no new instruction. Thank you for keeping your GradeBooks up to date.

Full PD Day, September 18th (No classes for students)
9:30am – 10:00am Virtual School Check in with your Advisory Classes
Advisory teachers will Google Meet / Zoom (your choice) with their Advisory students from home. This will be a test run to identify any problems with students and staff being able to connect Virtually with one another. Please send out your Friday VS invites to your Advisory students on Monday or Tuesday.

– Thursday and Friday, September 24 – 25th will be the HS “Week-Within-Walls” in place of our regular WWW trips. Grade 12 students will be working with the Counselors. Grade 11 students will be doing their Group 4 Science assignment. Grades 9 – 10 will be doing several different activities over the two days. There will not be regular classes on these two days. More information will be shared soon.

Sunshine Committee Dues– The Sunshine committee organizes a number of great events and celebrates and supports those staff members in need over the course of the year.   In addition to monthly birthday celebrations and organization of departmental breakfasts, Sunshine shows random acts of kindness, flowers and other items to celebrate milestone events in our lives.  Sunshine will organize a whole staff event each quarter.   Sunshine Committee members this year are: Amy and Evan.  Looking for more members too. We will be asking for a 500,000 VND contribution to be paid to Evan or Huyen.
