Another outstanding week at SSIS!

“Individual commitment to a group effort-that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.”

Vince Lombardi

Dear Faculty and Staff,

This was another great week for SSIS! The activities hosted at SSIS reflected very positively on the school –  our teachers, our staff, our students, and the facilities. We hosted two conferences simultaneously, Finalsite University Asia and Vietnam Tech Conference (VTC). We also hosted a SISAC soccer tournament and a parent/teacher vs student tennis tournament. In addition, our SEASAC basketball teams represented the School very well in KL and our arts students represented us beautifully at the SEASAC arts festival in Singapore. What a week!

For the SEASAC and SISAC events, thank you to Shelley Wowchuk, coaches Alison Leathwood, Dawn Kaba, Chris Stoltz, Regi Katz, Dan Wade, and Chris Wolf, and teachers/chaperones Nomer Adona, Dan Fleming, and Elizabeth Souba.

Finalsite University Asia was the brain-child of Katie Rigney-Zimmermann. She worked with Finalsite to bring the training to Asia for the first time ever. Over 80 schools from 17 different countries were represented. It was a fantastic conference for all admissions, marketing and communications directors.

Likewise, 165 participants from 40 schools in Vietnam and Asia attended the VTC conference. As David Perkin described it, “The weekend was a fantastic showcase that championed SSIS as a leader in technology education.” Great credit is due to David, his team, and all of the presenters and speakers.

Behind all these events was an extraordinarily team of support staff, custodians, tech support, event planners, and caterers. I am very grateful to all of you for making these events run seamlessly and for showing the world what an incredible place SSIS is!

Thank you all. Have a great week!

Catriona
