1. New Buildings Transition: Move-In Date Announced

Dear Faculty and Staff,

After five years of intense planning and preparation, we are thrilled to announce the move-in date for our new buildings – April 8 for teachers and April 9 for students. The move only impacts Grades 6 – 12 at this time. 

Calendar Changes

To facilitate these dates, Monday, April 8 will replace April 19 as a “PD” day, i.e.: 

• Monday, April 8: No school for students: Classroom preparation for MS & HS teachers
• Friday, April 19: Full teaching day, all divisions (previously PD)

This is to give MS and HS teachers time to set up their classrooms on April 8 (additional details about lockers, classroom keys, and evacuation routes will be shared at a later date.) ES faculty will have PD on April 8. 

Middle School Transition Schedule

There are three steps to the transition: packing, moving, and setting up. Please note the dates below:

• Thursday, March 28: Full teaching day with Student Led Conferences 4:00 – 8:00 pm 
• Friday, March 29: Packing day for MS faculty – no school for students
• Monday, April 8: New classroom set up day for MS faculty
• Tuesday, April 9: MS students start in the new building
• Friday, April 19: Full teaching day, all divisions (previously PD)

High School Transition Schedule

Current Art, Computer Science and Engineering, Math, and Science classrooms will be moved to the STEAM Design Center. In addition, Social Studies will move to the third floor of Building C. Please note the dates below:

• Thursday, March 28: Full teaching day, Parent Teacher Conferences 4:00 – 8:00 pm 
• Friday, March 29: Conferences 8:00 am -12:00 pm, packing in the afternoon (more details to follow) 
• Monday, April 8: Classroom set up  for HS faculty
• Tuesday, April 9: Students start in the new building
• Friday, April 19: Full teaching day (previously, PD)

Rotational Days on Powerschool: The rotational days for MS and HS will be updated in Powerschool to reflect these changes.

Elementary School – Changes This Summer

At this time, there are no changes for ES. However, during the summer, modifications will be made to the new MS building to accommodate Grade 5 classrooms on the ground floor, beside the library, for the entirety of the 2024-2025 school year. While building A is renovated, ES PE offices will be housed in the new MS building and ES Drama will move to the ES Flex Room.

I know that you will have lots of questions, and we will get answers to you as soon as possible. There are a lot of details that go into a move of this magnitude, and I truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we commence the transition into our new spaces. It will be worth it!
