63. Coronavirus Update: Health Office Alert

Dear Faculty and Staff,
The letter below will be sent out to SSIS parents this evening. Teachers who may have had this student in class last week will be notified. Thank you for adhering to, and reinforcing our health and safety protocols.  Thank you for remaining vigilant at this time as we enjoy every precious minute with our students on campus.
Best wishes for a great first full week of the 2020-2021 school year.

SSIS (EC-12) Head of School Message: Health Office Alert

Dear SSIS Parents,

Today, we learned that one of our SSIS Middle School families was on board a flight on August 6 from Nha Trang to HCMC, along with a passenger that has tested positive for COVID-19. The SSIS family have all tested negative, but following the standard government protocols for all passengers, they will complete self-quarantine as required.

Although the student and the student’s family have tested negative, I want to reassure you that SSIS is taking all recommended precautions and we are committed to keeping you fully informed at all times, as the MS student was on campus last week.

During the first days of school, faculty, staff, and students reviewed the SSIS Health and Safety Protocols and the importance of the three layers of protection against COVID-19.  It is imperative that our entire community remains vigilant, as the situation can change at a moment’s notice.

As always, the SSIS Health Office asks everyone to take the three-layered health and safety approach seriously. Wash your hands thoroughly, wear a mask, and practice social-distancing. If you have any respiratory symptoms or fever, please, stay home and report your symptoms immediately to the School Nurse.

We appreciate this family’s compliance with the local CDC and their unwavering support of the school’s protocols. Keeping our community safe requires everyone’s cooperation, and we rely on immediate and accurate information.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the important health and safety protocols of our school and the local CDC.

The SSIS Health Office is in regular contact with the D7 CDC and will share any further concerns and updates with you. Please do not hesitate to contact our Health Office Manager (lchute@ssis.edu.vn) if you have any questions or concerns.

All good wishes,
Dr. Catriona Moran
Head of School
