Celebrating an outstanding start to the school year and SSIS’s leadership in VEX Robotics!

“Don’t ask a student what she wants to be when she grows up, ask her what problem she wants to solve…then give her the environment to build the knowledge, skills and abilities she needs to solve that problem.” Jaime Casap

Good morning Faculty and Staff,

Congratulations on an outstanding beginning to the school year! It is such a pleasure to observe our students building relationships and engaging in learning from day one.  Thank you for your hard work in making every experience and every event exceptional for our students and families. The word-on-the-street about SSIS is very positive and demand for spaces at SSIS continues to soar.

I am very proud that SSIS is once more demonstrating leadership in Vietnam in preparing young people for the future. In this instance, we are leading the efforts to teach coding, building and programming robots, and competing in VEX Robotics. This weekend, Evan Weinberg and his students presented the VEX Robotics Open House which was attended by Lawrence Ting School, BIS, ISHCMC, ISHCMC AAVN, the EMASI school, and Concordia Hanoi. In January, we will host the first ever Vietnam VRC National Championship here at SSIS where we continue to build a community of schools through robotics.

It’s an exciting time in the school’s evolution and I look forward to working with all of you on articulating our strategic plan for the future. More details of that process with be shared with you at Wednesday’s meeting.  In the meantime, have a great start to your week.

All good wishes,
Catriona
