COVID Update: F1 Can Return to Campus ( 882/UBND-VX)

Dear SSIS Faculty & Staff,

Good morning! I hope you enjoyed interacting with parents and students during the conferences. And, I hope you are having a wonderfully restful and rejuvenating weekend.

We are delighted to share the new directive that the government released on Thursday, March 24. The directive (882/UBND-VX) significantly eases restrictions on F1s at work and school.

Beginning next Monday, March 28, close contacts (F1) may continue work or attend school on campus if they are fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine or have had COVID-19 in the past 3 months.

The new directive means that F1 students, faculty, and staff who meet the requirements and do not have symptoms, may return to campus.

Those fully vaccinated (& people recovered from COVID) may continue to work or go to school on campus with the attached conditions:

  • Self-monitor symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days (from the date of close contact with F0).
  • Self-test on Day 5 and upload to SSIS Health App.
  • Immediately notify the SSIS Health Office and the local health station if having Covid symptoms.
  • Use a private car to get to and from school (no public transportation, no school bus)
  • Avoid contact with high-risk people: elders, pregnant women, unvaccinated people, etc.
  • Strictly follow the 5K (wear masks, avoid crowds, wash hands frequently, do not gather in groups, submit a daily health declaration on the SSIS Health app).
  • SSIS requires that proof of F0 recovery is uploaded to the SSIS App (see “Tests” icon). Proof includes the Certificate of Quarantine Completion / COVID Recovery from the local health station. A positive PCR test or other documentation may be accepted as proof.

EC/KG Guidelines

Students in EC/KG are also included in this new guideline. From Monday, when an F0 is identified in the class, only the students who are close contacts (F1) will need to stay at home for 7 days (unless previously recovered from COVID-19 in which case, the Certificate of COVID Recovery must be uploaded to the SSIS App). See above.

Students who are not close contacts, or students who have recovered from COVID within 3 months, are allowed to return to campus. The whole class does not need to stay home.

We appreciate the Vietnamese Government responsiveness to an ever-changing COVID situation. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about these guidelines.

All good wishes,

Catriona
